Challenge: Decorate a resale shop for Christmas. Give it a cohesive feel with the disparate items that are donated to the shop. It’s a thrift store, so naturally it trends toward randomness. Our biggest challenge was to come up with quick projects and accents that say “holiday.”
Solution: Gather all like Christmas items and create vignettes on every open surface from tabletops to shelves. With huge thanks to the fabulous designers who worked last Friday, here are some of the results.
Faux fireplace scene.
Stockings and Santas upright.
Wreath wall.
Upstairs, miniatures and frames.
Trees and more frames.
Table full of candles and gifts.
Never heard of a garland crib?
Items of the day: ceiling fixture made from a patio umbrella votive holder
and some handmade paperweights using glass frames that were a donation and Paper Source papers.

I’ve never seen a thrift store look this good. Neat & orderly, sure, once in a while. But decorative? Never! Great job.
(And that scholarly teddy bear – omg!)
