The pretty plaque above the bed in this photo caught my eye when I browsed through this month’s copy of Elle Decor. It really makes the room. I was surprised to see it in the mail today, the Elle Decor that is, because I thought my subscription had run out, and I’m considering opting out of paper magazines.
This would make an awesome one-of-a-kind project for a sheet of found wood, maybe some old flooring in a construction dumpster or a salvaged part of a furniture piece. Wood + stencil + paint. Screws and picture wire on the back, then hang.
Another pattern to stencil on wood is this credenza by Katrina for her vintage shop, Eclectica Miami.
She planned to paint the pattern on a wall of the store, but acquired a large hutch for the exact space instead. Still, she had to get it the pattern out of her system, so it went on the credenza.
Hazel of Smitten and Hazel started this year off on a sunny note with this kitchen cabinet stencil. She dabbed yellow and pink acrylic paints through the pattern. If she moves, it can easily be scrubbed off.
Loved how she continued the pattern on the inside of the doors, too.
Then, for the over achiever, cream paint on a worn wood floor from PaintaLifestyle.ca inspired by a tablecloth.
