Found Item: Panels covered in wool felt, last weekend around Lawrence Avenue and the lake

Am I stuck on headboards for Ikea Malm beds?  Not really, though I made a different one last March for this TimeOut Chicago column. This time around, same bed, different treatment using one of the found orange panels.

The fabric was as good as found.  It came from the house sale of a longtime lingerie designer for Field’s. Who could pass that up? Each room was filled with mounds of samples robes, nightgowns, bras and caftans.  I found yards of this embroidered cotton out in the garage where all the fabric was organized.

I used hot glue to attach the fabric to the panel, then repositioned the hangers from vertical to horizontal orientation.
