Cheap Hotel Furniture Sale

If you live in the Chicago area and are looking for a makeover candidate, your lucky day might be coming right up.  Starting Sunday, 4/25, Fort Pitt Hotel Liquidators is doing a $5, $10 and $15 sale.  Fort Pitt is one of those places that brokers the old guest room and lobby furniture when hotels do a makeover.  So they don’t just have one armoire, they might have a hundred.  Same for beds, couches, lamps—all the comforts of home away from home.

I’ve made a few trips to Fort Pitt, 1400 W. 37th Street, and the other used hotel furniture store in Chicago, Cooper, which is on south Halsted in Pilsen.  My next door neighbor paired her kitchen Windsor chairs with a pretty dark wood table from Fort Pitt. I’ve found both stores to be a source for cheap lamp shades and mirrors. A chair to redo, a mirror to paint, or if you really like the hotel look, go for it and get the mini-bar, too.

The sale runs for the week of Sunday, April 24 to Saturday, May 1.  Check the website for hours, or call 773-347-2523.

If you head on down next week, drop me a line to tell about your find and if the sale is as good as advertised. Here’s the flyer from my inbox today.
