Three possibilities for a makeover this week.
This chair was found in the alley behind a hotel. It was discarded because of the worn spots on the arms, so it needs a new cover but the springs and stuffing appear sound. An Ikea cotton print or a mohair remnant salvaged by Modern Fabrics?
This one looks old. Finding the fabric shop closed upon arrival, I cruised the alleys on my way home and came up with this chair. It will take a supply of cane to restore the seat. An alternative is to fill in the seat with a piece of wood and construct a cushion over it. Then, choose a fabric to give an old/new look to the chair.
This low and sturdy table measures close to 5 feet long. With a cushion on top, maybe one with some button tufting, it would make a good bench at the end of a bed. House of Turquoise features a very pretty raspberry and turquoise one originally pictured in Domino. The magazine site has been taken down, but images from it are available on the Domino Magazine Flickr site. There’s also a group pool that gives another great window to design and inspiration.
